A recipe box for the camp kitchen
Host Camp Mart exists to make camp meals easier to plan, safer to store and more enjoyable to cook.
What we do
We write printable checklists, trip-length meal plans and straightforward recipes for people cooking outdoors — mostly car campers, families and groups who want good food without turning the campsite into a restaurant kitchen.
Everything here is built around a simple idea: plan at home, pack in a system, and keep the cooking simple. Our checklists are organized the way you pack, our meal plans are sequenced so perishables are eaten first, and our recipes lean on one pot, one skillet or a sheet of foil.
How we write
We focus on practical, repeatable methods. Where food safety is involved, we follow widely published public guidance — such as keeping perishables at 4°C (40°F) or below and cooking meat to safe internal temperatures — and we point you to local rules for fires and wildlife storage, which always take priority over general advice.
We do not sell gear, and we avoid naming brands. When we mention a type of equipment, it is because the category is useful, not because of a partnership.
A note on safety
Outdoor cooking involves open flame, fuel, sharp tools and wildlife. Our content is general information to help you plan. Always follow the instructions for your equipment, current fire restrictions and the food-storage requirements of the land manager where you camp.
